That is all my hubby and I have. The man upstairs is a mechanic and always cutting out our reception with his grinding.

Yes, it was, they usually had two extendible rods, placed at an angle of 45°, you could rotate them etc.

I've been pondering on this all day.

Yon mon what keeps grinding and disrupting reception:- Are his activities going on upstairs, or does he grind around the rest of the place.

And as for Mr Bobbit Sue, lets just pray that the man upstairs is more of a monkey than an organ-grinder.

Ah well, nil desperandum carborundum illegitimum.

I cried when I read the grinding bit. Mice in an attic must be murder. But a grinding mechanic upstairs. I can't describe the images it conjured up.

Seriously though, the poor woman could have a neighbour from hell in a flat above her. Then again he could also have his problems with neighbours.

The advert had animated blue and white tiles (Delft?), with windmills and other Dutch icons on them.

You don't have rabbit ears in Britain? Or do you call them something else? Mine didn't get very good reception. Either we're too low or maybe computers and stuff interfered. So I put them in the attic. I was gonna get a roof top aerial but thought it would be ostentatious and maybe cause a keeping up with the Jones' competition with the neighbours.
